A stroll around the old town

The charming old town in Kristiansand, Posebyen, consists of white wooden houses. Every Saturday in the summer season the Poseby Market is held here. You can get a map of suggested walks at the tourist information in Kristiansand.

Boat trip Kristiansand - Blindleia - Lillesand

Take a boat trip from Kristiansand through the inland waterway Blindleia to Lillesand. In the pretty little village of Lillesand you can stroll through narrow streets, giving you a feeling of days gone by and of the coastal culture.

The return trip to Kristiansand goes by bus from the bus station. The round trips takes approximately four hours.

The National Cycle Route 3 from Kristiansand to Kile

Start at the ferry port in Kristiansand and cycle on pavements and cycle paths to Krossen. Here you join the National Cycle Route 1, which turns off to the left towards Mandal.

Cycle Route 3 continues northwards through Dalane. The Otra River has to be crossed by a suspension bridge from Mosby to Haus. From Haus you continue to Vennesla where the route re-crosses the Otra River and continues to Steinsfossen.

At Steinsfossen the cycle route goes parallel with the old Setesdalbanen Railway track, and then goes towards  Kringsjå, past Beihølen and Skisland to Røyknes. This particular stretch is rather hilly.

On the next stretch, the route yet again follows the old Setesdalsbanen Railway and continues along the west side of the fjord.

The trip goes through several tunnels, but only some of them are lighted. The tour can well finish at Kile where the Setesdal Bilruter bus service takes you back to Kristiansand.

Nordsjøvegen (The North Sea Road)

On two wheels or four - it is you choice. The North Sea Road starts in Kristiansand and follows idyllic roads along the coast right up to Haugesund. You can experience the entire 375-kilometre route or just parts of it as the North Sea Road stretches all the way from Haugesund in the west to Kristiansand in the south.
