The vast mountain plateau of Hardangervidda National Park is one of Europe's largest. It is also home to Northern Europe’s largest stock of reindeer.
This is the only glacier in the county of Telemark. It is also one of the southernmost glaciers in Norway.
Rauland offers a network of more than 90 kilometres of waymarked hiking tracks with different degrees of difficulty. The walking routes lie between 700 and 1,100 above sea level, and are shown on the map “Turkart Rauland” which can be bought at Rauland Tourist Information Office.
The most popular and spectacular hikes are to Falkeriset, Te-hytta and Dansarsteinen.
