Alpine Skiing

Only an hour and a half from London Stansted, the charming coastal town of
Haugesund provides ideal access to some great skiing in Fjord Norway. Haugesund
is the old home of the great Viking Kings and home today to three excellent resorts, Røldal, Sauda and Haukelifjell. Snow is as good as guaranteed in the mountains of Fjord Norway and the region offers absolutely stunning scenery.

Great snow and modern facilities

Ideal temperatures and heavy snowfall in this region, means great snow conditions are pretty much guaranteed. Efficient ski lifts without the queues, varied slopes and downhill runs, unspoilt terrain, large snowboard park and evening skiing aided by floodlights.

The resorts

Røldal
Røldal regularly registers more snow than anywhere else in Europe. Normal snowpack is two-four meters and depths of over seven meters are common. The superb conditions and terrain attract beginners to the most experienced freeriders. There are also endless cross-country skiing possibilities. In this up and coming resort you’ll find night skiing, new lifts, club, bars and cafés and accomodation in all price ranges.

Sauda
At Sauda, the unique closeness of fjords and mountains provides a truly spectacular backdrop for some excellent skiing. Gentle slopes make this resort ideal for the family. As well as the Alpine ski runs, there are some stunning cross-country ski trails running through five different long-valleys. You’ll also find a
great variety of accommodation available, from cabins to luxurious hotels.
