Getting to Molde and Romsdal and around

The city of Molde is located 500 kilometres from Oslo and 450 kilometres from Bergen, and is accessible by train, ferry, Hurtigruten, bus and plane.

By plane

Molde Airport Årø is situated five kilometres from Molde city centre and has daily departures to the biggest cities in Norway. The airport shuttle bus corresponds with all flights, and stops by the hotels in Molde and at the bus station.

By Hurtigruten (The Norwegian Coastal Voyage)

Both northbound and southbound Hurtigruten ferries call at Molde every day.

By ferries and express boats

The ferries in the region traffic the fjords from early morning to far into the night. For more information, please contact Fjord1.

By bus

There are daily express buses to and from Trondheim, Bergen and Oslo with Nor-Way Bussekspress. Local buses bring you to most of the region, and there is a local city bus in Molde. The airport shuttle bus brings you to/from the Molde Airport, corresponding bus to the Rauma Railway Line at Åndalsnes.

By train

The Rauma Railway, which is operated by the Norwegian State Railways (NSB) has daily departures from Åndalsnes to Oslo and Trondheim, with corresponding trains to other places. The Rauma Line has also guided tours from Åndalsnes to Bjorli and back during the summer season.

By car

Molde, Åndalsnes, the Trollstigen Mountain Road and the Atlantic Road are very nice to explore by car. Do not stress, take your time and stop to enjoy the beautiful nature and views.

From Oslo, follow the E6 north to Dombås, then the E136 in direction Åndalsnes.

From Trondheim, follow the E39 south to Krifast/Gjemnes.

From Bergen, follow the E39 north to Vestnes.
