A unique experience every month – which one are you looking for?

For really enthusiastic skiers, snow has a magnetic attraction. They put their skis on as soon as the first snow arrives – often just a thin, white carpet over the countryside at the end of October or the beginning of November. And many don’t stop their regular skiing trips until May. Even in midsummer some Norwegians head onto the high mountain glaciers to enjoy the warm summer days on the white snow beneath sunny, blue skies.

Spending Christmas and New Year is a unique experience, built around the traditional seasonal festivities. Peaceful and romantic festivities, which produce a cosy family environment. Pass the daytime going on invigorating skiing trips and the evenings enjoying good traditional food and the wonderful atmosphere. Perhaps the ”Nisse”, the Norwegian Father Christmas, might even visit you?

In the middle of the winter there is usually plenty of snow and skiing conditions are fantastic. Although the days are short and the weather is at its coldest, this is
the perfect time for experiencing great natural beauty. The snow sparkles on the
snow-laden trees. Dusk brings with it the mysterious and fascinating blue light that
has inspired many artists. In a starry night, you often see the mysterious Northern
Lights dancing across the sky. This is the time of year for people seeking peace, quiet and recreation.

Easter in Norway is a time for sun, snow and happiness. Many Norwegians want to visit the white and sunny mountains during Easter, and many people go year after year – to enjoy incredible natural beauty, for peace and recreation, or to share experiences with family and friends. Staying in a cabin or in a hotel, the mountain visitors spend much time outside on the sun terraces, in the ski tracks, or playing in the snow.

The white snow encourages games. Everything from rough snowball fights amongst the teenagers to more creative activities: small children making snowmen and adults designing impressive snow sculptures. For many people snow also means speed – on skis, toboggans and sledges. Enjoyable and exciting for fun loving people – of all ages.
