Description

A guided trip by bus to the Russian border and the iron ore mines in Bjørnevatn. Our first stop is “Skafferhullet”, the historical crossing point on the border between Norway and Russia. We visit the border and have views of the Russian community of Boris Gleb on the other side. Your guide will provide information on the various historical events which took place in this area. We continue to the mining town Bjørnevatn which has gone through dramatic changes the last years. The mines were closed in 1996 and was reopen again in 2009. Here we gain an insight into 90 years of mining history. We continue our trip to the viewpoint "Storfjell" where we get a nice view over the fjord.
