Description

Ringve museum is Norway's National Museum for music and musical instruments with items from all over the world.

The museum can offer two permanent exhibitions. "The Museum in the Manor House" comprises the oldest section, and has been preserved as it looked when Ringve's founder, Victoria Bachke, opened the museum in 1952.

"The Museum in the Barn" is featuring modern sound and light technology. You can visit this section such as "the musical party", "the invention of the piano", "jazz, hot & swing", "pop & rock" and "the marching band movement in Norway".

Norwegian folk-music instruments are exhibited here, along with other traditional instruments from all over the world.
