Description

Brenneriet Churrascaria is a Brazilian concept and the only one of its kind in Norway. The speciality is grilled meats. At Brenneriet Churrascaria you can help yourself from an extensive buffet comprising salads, potatoes, dressings and other trimmings. The waiting staff will then carve the meat at your table. On the menu are grilled chicken, pork, beef, lamb, sausages and spareribs. Churrasco (choo-ras-koo) is Brazilian for grill, and refers to a 300-year-old culinary tradition from Southern Brazil. In the olden days, Gauchos (south Brazilian cowboys) would prepare skewers with large pieces of meat which then would be grilled slowly over an open fire. Gauchos prepared food for their families at the same time as they looked after the cattle. The best of the grilled meat was then split between the families, and the Gauchos carved the meat by the table - both to show off and to celebrate the occasion.
