Gol is the shopping centre of the Hallingdal Valley, and has a variety of nice shops with plenty of free parking spaces. There are a number of smaller shops that sell souvenirs, gifts and handicrafts.

Gol has a "vinmonopol" (Vinmonopolet has the exclusive right to retail wine, spirits and strong beer in Norway. The products are purchased through importers holding the required licence for import). You will also find a chemist, post office and banks in Gol.
Many shops participate in the tax free system.
The centre of Gol is well-suited for disabled people.
