Downhill cycling in Hafjell

With 14 trails and 25 kilometres of tracks, Hafjell Bike Park is a world class venue for downhill biking.

Hafjell Bike Park is a full service downhill biking resort offering 14 trails with an excellent mix of machine-built and natural (single track) trails. The trails’ total distance is 25 kilometres, and ranges in difficulty level from beginner to expert. They are accessible by gondola and chairlift. 

The bike park has a well-deserved reputation for innovative but safe trail design and is a paradise for downhill enthusiasts from all over the world. The park proudlyhosted the UCI downhill World Cup Final in 2012

Hafjell is a top spot for dirt jumping, with a range of jumps that caters for riders of all levels. Local expert rider Trond Hansen plays a key role in building and shaping the jumps, making it the ultimate playground for dirt jumpers. The Hafjell Dirt Jumps has hosted a number of events including the ANTI Days of Thunder and the TSG Dirt Jam.

The season runs from June to October.

The park's opening hours are available online (usually 10.00 – 17.00).

Bike rental

The Hafjell bike shop has 120 downhill bikes and 20 cross-country bikes to rent. The shop sells a range of spare parts, safety gear and bike clothing. There is also a workshop that can help you with any mechanical problems, regardless of whether you have hired a bike or brought your own.

How to get to Hafjell

From Oslo or Oslo Airport Gardermoen you can go by train or car (around two and a half hours). Contact the Norwegian State Railways (NSB) in advance if you want to bring your bike on the train. The shuttle bus service from Lillehammer (20 minutes) also carries bikes.

Hafjell is situated in the small town of Øyer in the Gudbrandsdalen Valley and offers many hotels, apartments, cottages and campsites.

Hafjell Bike Park has several restaurants that offer a range of dishes, from fast food to top quality cuisine. On the mountain plateau there is a brand new restaurant with excellent food and beverages.
