From Oslo:Travel to Kongsberg, then follow rv. 40.
From the south:From Larvik, follow rv. 40 through Kongsberg towards Geilo. If you are coming from Denmark to Larvik by boat, this is the best option.
From the west:Follow rv. 7 across Hardangervidda to Geilo, then travel along rv. 40 to Numedal.
A regular bus service from Nettbuss operates between Geilo and Kongsberg, and this has several stops in Numedal. Travel time between Kongsberg and Geilo is approximately three hours and 20 minutes. Several trains depart daily from Oslo and Bergen and stop at both Geilo and Kongsberg on the way.
