Eating in Rondane National Park

All the hotels and lodges, and most of the staffed cabins serve locally inspired food for hikers and skiers – summer and winter.

The food in the region of Rondane is often locally based with fresh ingredients from nature.

Mushrooms and berries accompany reindeer and elk, and fish from the mountain lakes.

The hotels around Mysuseter and Høvringen are especially known for their traditional food.

Try for example some of the local food at Rondane Spa Hotel where you can enjoy the view towards the peaks of Rondane and the beautiful Ulafossen Waterfall.

At Høvringen, the family-run hotel Brekkeseter is proud to serve food from the local surroundings. All summer fresh fish is landed in the kitchen almost every day. Reindeer, moose and Rondane Highland Cattle are on the menu throughout the year. Local hunters, among them the host at Brekkeseter, bring in these superb quality meats. When the food is served with the specially designed Høvringen Chianti Classico from Fattoria Cinciano in Tuscany, Italy as you take in the views of the mountains, the world seems a whole lot better.
