Where to stay in the Fjell & Fjord region

There is accommodation in all categories and to suit all budgets - everything from historic hotels with long traditions, to cabins and camp sites.

Camp sites

There are attractive, good camping places in the entire Fjell & Fjord region. For the most part they are located along the main roads and by fjords, but some can be found that are situated in the mountains or off the beaten track. Camping cabins vary from the reasonably-priced and simple to modern, well-equipped cabins.

Motels and youth hostels

Basic, reasonably priced accommodation offering straightforward food; often situated at natural crossroads along the main roads.

Cabins and holiday apartments

Cosy cabins and apartments of different standards can be found for from 4 to 20 people. Several booking enterprises act as intermediaries for private cabins as well as cabins situated in groups.

Mountain inns

If you want to be close to nature, and to stay somewhere intimate and cosy, we recommend one of the many mountain inns in the area. They often provide direct access to fantastic mountain areas, fishing lakes and bathing.

Hotels – fjord hotels – high mountain hotels

There are small, cosy, family-run hotels where you can get close to local traditions as well as larger resorts with SPAs and bathing and wellness departments, activities on offer and gourmet kitchens etc.

Guest farms/high mountain farms/farm tourism

Try an alternate experience of Norwegian culture, in which tradition and the environment have been cultivated and can provide a feeling of peace and calm, and a good atmosphere. Some of the active high mountain farms offer overnight accommodation to provide an experience you won't forget.
