Where to stay in Hovden

Hovden offers a complete range of accommodation alternatives, from campsites to comfortable cabins, apartments and mountain lodges. The Bykle Hotel in the centre of Bykle is the only accommodation provider with both hotel rooms and apartments.

Hotels

Bykle Hotel
Bykle Hotel is located near the Old Bykle Church in charming, rural surroundings approximately 28 kilometres south of Hovden. The newer building, completed in 2006, makes an interesting combination with the traditional Setesdal style of the old section. Bykle Hotel offers accommodation for 95 persons in comfortable rooms and apartments of various sizes, as well as a restaurant offering a variety of dishes, including traditional food.

Hovdestøylen Hotel & Lodge
This comfortable hotel is situated close to the river Otra, with hiking paths and cross-country trails just outside. The 41 spacious rooms all have free wireless Internet access. The restaurant at Hovdestøylen Hotel & Lodge boasts a magnificent view of the Western Hills. 

Hovden Høyfjellshotell (Hovden Mountain Hotel)
Comfortable hotel with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. Hovden Høyfjellshotell, which is renowned for its excellent cuisine and friendly staff, has a total of 69 rooms, of which 13 are family rooms. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, children's playroom and a games area, and a big outdoor patio. The hiking paths just outside the hotel serve as cross-country trails during the winter. The hotel is located in walking distance from Hovden Aqualand & Spa, central Hovden and the Ski Centre.

Mountain lodges

Choose between self-catering and board/lodging. The hosts at the mountain lodges will make sure you get a pleasant stay in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

Bjåen Fjellstove
This mountain lodge is the first Norwegian accommodation provider to be awarded eco-tourism certification within accommodation and meal service. Bjåen Fjellstove has 12 rooms which are individually furnished, and a total of 24 beds. All rooms have a washbasin. There are two toilets and one shower in the lodge, a lounge and a dining room. Here you can also borrow a boat and try your luck fishing in Lake Breivatn.

Hovden Fjellstoge and Youth Hostel
The mountain lodge and youth hostel Hovden Fjellstoge has 25 cabins of varying size and standard; from basic four-bed camping cabins to comfortable cottages sleeping 10 persons. The family restaurant serves traditional Norwegian food in a pleasant atmosphere. The lodge and its surroundings are well adapted for families with children.  

Cabins

The stay in a cabin is based on self-catering, but final cleaning and bed linen/towels are available for an additional charge. Both Hovden Hytteformidling and Hovden Høyfjellsenter og Hyttepark offer a range of well equipped cabins accommodating from five to 12 people. The Hovden Mountain Centre also has a large cabin sleeping up to 48 people.

Apartments

Hovden offers a wide selection of apartments of various sizes and standards. The accommodation is based on self-catering. Meals, ready-made beds and cleaning are not included in the price. However, such additional services are available against a surcharge. Catering on request in some places.
