The Kirkenes area is known for its clear skies so it is prime northern lights country. A short walk from your hotel and you will find areas with less light pollution perfect for watching nature’s most impressive natural phenomenon - the aurora borealis. 

Kirkenes is a small town in the northeastern part of Northern Norway close to the Russian border. 

You will stay on the edge of the deep taiga forests (boreal forests), still the domain of bears; extend all the way from Pasvik to the Pacific Ocean. The Orthodox St. George’s Chapel and Russian-language signs in Kirkenes tell us that we are close to Norway’s outer limit.

You only need to bring warm leisure clothing. All equipment necessary for the excursions will be supplied before departure.
