Restaurants and nightlife in the Lillehammer Region

Enjoy local delicacies at Kulturstua i Ro, Sygard Grytting or Lillehammer Bryggeri. The choice of restaurants is vast.

Thanks to high numbers of visitors and many students, the region has an excellent variety of restaurants. Lillehammer and Gudbrandsdalen take pride in their food traditions, and a number of catering establishments use local ingredients and offer food typical for the area. Others take a more international approach.

Traditional local food

Among the restaurants serving local specialities are Lillehammer Bryggeri in central Lillehammer, Kulturstua at Ro and Sygard Grytting, located in the historic surroundings of Gausdal and Gudbrandsdalen.

Restaurants and cafés

In Lillehammer town centre you can enjoy both modern, international cuisine and traditional meals.Visit Brenneriet Churrascaria for a Brazilian experience, and Bryggerikjelleren or Garveriet Biff og Dram for some fine dining. Cafe Stasjonen, located by the railway station, is ideal for lunch and light snacks. The ski resorts offer a choice of restaurants, but some are only open during the skiing season.

Après-ski

The region's ski resorts offer après-ski and restaurants. For the most lively atmosphere, head to HafjellKvitfjell or Skeikampen. Excellent meals can also be enjoyed at the hotels and alpine centres.

Nightlife

Lillehammer has thriving nightlife with numerous establishments worth visiting. Most of the watering holes are located around Storgata. Here you will find bars, pubs and nightclubs/discos, for example the popular Brenneriet Nattklubb with two bars and a capacity for 1,000 guests. Next door is the Bryggerikjelleren, one of the most traditional restaurants in town.

Bars and pubs close between 2:00 am and 3:00 am, and nightclubs close at 3:00 am.
