Alpine skiing, Telemark skiing and snowboarding

Norefjell Ski Resort offers alpine skiing and Telemark skiing for all levels, from first timers to advanced skiers. Snow conditions are normally very good from December to April, and the ski resort also has very good snowmaking facilities.

Enjoy early morning skiing down nicely groomed slopes. Norefjell also offers evening skiing a couple of evenings a week.
 
At Norefjell you can enjoy variable skiing – the ski resort offers 13 lifts (3 chair lifts, 5 T-lifts and 5 plate lifts) and 26 slopes with different levels of difficulty, from very easy green slopes, to difficult black ones, all in all 25 kilometres of slopes.

In the centre of the ski resort, which hosted the alpine events during the Oslo Olympic Games in 1952, you will find a terrain park which contains rails, big jumps, jibbing and other challenges.

At Norefjell Ski Resort you must buy a Key Card for hand-free passage. The card costs NOK 50.

Cross-country skiing

At Norefjell, you will find a well-developed network of tracks for cross-country skiing.

Choose between 120 kilometres of well-prepared mountain tracks in beautiful surroundings or 40 kilometres of tracks down in the valley along Lake Krøderen.

The different tracks are marked with different colours, corresponding to a special map which you can buy at the ski resort (NOK 30).

One track (yellow) crosses the mountains to Høgevarde (1,459 metres above sea level) where you will find a self-service cabin owned by The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT).

The other tracks marked blue, green and red take you through different elevations between 600 to 900 metres above sea level.

Some of the tracks pass the new Quality Spa & Resort Norefjell and the mountain village at Bøseter.

Ski hire

Newly prepared equipment for both alpine and cross-country skiing is available for hire. There are four ski-hire shops at Norefjell Ski Resort:

Ski school

Use your ski holiday to improve your skiing skills. Become a better skier and have more fun in the winter adventure. Norefjell Ski School, in the central ski resort area, offers courses at all levels in alpine, snowboard, Telemark and cross-country techniques.

Winter without skis

Dining and nightlife

Up in the mountain you will find the Skistua Café with its fantastic terrace, view and après ski. Quality Spa & Resort Norefjell is also a very good choice for a tasty meal in different restaurants or enjoying après ski in a good atmosphere.

Norefjellhytta, located on the slopes, offers dishes made with local ingredients and inspired by Norwegian as well as foreign cuisines. 

Down in the valley you will find Heishuset Restaurant & Pub, Alpinstua Café and Best Western Sole Hotell & Herregaard.

Getting to Norefjell from Oslo

Norefjell is a mountain range between the valleys of Eggedal (west) and Hallingdal (east) in Norway. It covers parts of the municipalities of Flå, Sigdal, and Krødsherad, all in the county of Buskerud.

By car
Follow the main road E18 to Sandvika, then follow the E16 in the direction of Hønefoss. Take road rv. 7 in the direction of Gol until you reach Noresund. From Noresund follow the sign to Norefjell Ski Resort.

By bus
Every Saturday and Sunday during the winter season, you can get to Norefjell Ski Resort by bus. During Christmas, winter holidays and Easter there are extra departures. Travel time: Approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

NorWay express buses only run daily between Oslo, Hallingdal and Western Norway, and stop in Noresund on the way.
