With custom slopes and lifts for the youngest skiers, two parks for older children and red and black runs for the parents, Skeikampen has something for everyone.

Skeikampen Alpine Centre is a snow-secure resort located at 800 metres altitude, with a dry climate and snow from the end of November to the beginning of May. With an average snowfall of three to five metres a year, good skiing conditions are guaranteed.

Alpine skiing and snowboard

At Skeikampen you can choose from 17 slopes of varying difficulty levels covering 21 kilometres - 3 green, 5 blue, 6 red and 3 black slopes. And 9 lifts to take you where you want. The Ole lift, the express eight-seater chairlift, will take you to the top in less than four minutes.

Should you also like to ski in the evening, night skiing is available two to three days a week. On well-lit slopes you can enjoy skiing after dinner.

Skeikampen has two terrain parks. A blue park with easier jumps and rails, suitable for beginners, and a black park with more challenging elements. Do not be surprised to see a 720 on the jump; there are many good local talents. The terrain park is also lit up two-three evenings a week.

For the children 

Skeikampen has a separate children's area tailor-made to allow children to gambol about to their heart’s delight in a safe environment. With more than 3,000 square metres to explore, there is plenty to keep children occupied at Skeikampen.

The slopes are gentle and wide for young skiers, to make training easier. And the two wonder carpets will easily bring them up to the top again. Fun figures are set out daily in the area to help them practise their slalom skills. There is also a separate children’s lift designated for this area.

The children's area is not only open for children, but anyone who wants to learn to ski in gentle conditions.

Cross-country skiing 

Skeikampen has had a reputation as a cross-country skiing destination for over a century. This area is renowned for its splendid cross-country terrain and extensive ski trail network that leads you into the realm of Peer Gynt. Perfect for short and long trips, and over 600 kilometres of ski trails of varying difficulties to enjoy.

Skeikampen is located between mountains and forest - this gives a great variation in the terrain.

Prices for the 2012/2013 season

NOK 50 for the Key Card in addition to all ski pass rates (no refund). Skeikampen is also included in the Lillehammer Ski Pass, which allows the ski pass purchased on Skeikampen to also be used at Gålå, Hafjell, Kvitfjell and Sjusjøen.

Ski rental

Rent your skis at Skeikampen Ski Rental, which offers skis, normal and advanced, snowboard, Telemark, cross-country skis and snow blades. Skeikampen also have sledges for children to use with an adult in the ski trails. You can also prepare your skis here.

Ski school

Do you need to learn to ski or want to improve your technique? Skeikampen Ski School can teach you what you need. Here you can learn alpine, carving, snowboard, Telemark and cross-country skiing.

Both group classes and private lessons are on offer, based on your needs. Minimum age is three years. All instructors have a ski instructor diploma and speak English.

Winter without skis

Holidays at Skeikampen are not just for those with skis on. Recreation for body and soul is available in the SPA at Thon Hotel Skeikampen, where you can relax after a long day on the slopes or have a treatment with heated oils. Or spend some time in the swimming pool and sauna at the Welcome Centre.

If you want to spend the afternoon outdoors, you can go on a sleigh ride with torch lights in the beautiful surrounding forests. In Paradise, you can even take a run with the dog sled.

After the slopes are closed, you can whiz down the slopes on the go-cart sledges and air board. And should you like to go ice skating, Skeikampen also has an illuminated ice rink.

At Skeikampen you can choose to stay in an apartment, a cabin or a hotel. The units are situated from 50 metres from the slopes/trails to four kilometres away.

Dining and nightlife

During daytime when the slopes are open, you can buy hot and cold dishes and drinks at Nystua, Ski in Bar and Galten. They are situated by the ski in/ski out on the slopes.

At Skeistua, they serve traditional home-made dishes. Skeistua is also easily accessible with skis on. Traditional Norwegian food is also on offer at Segalstad Seter Café.

Both Thon Hotel Gausdal and Thon Hotel Skeikampen serve delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole family.

During the season there is live music in the hotel bar, after ski in the piano bar at Segalstad Seter and after ski with live music at Skei Vikingland.

Getting to Skeikampen

By plane: Fly to Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Continue by train or bus to Lillehammer, and get on the bus directly to Skeikampen.

By bus: Take the bus to Lillehammer and get on the bus directly to Skeikampen.

By car from Oslo: Follow E6 to Lillehammer. Follow the road north passing Lillehammer and take the exit off to Gausdal (rv. 255). Drive through Segalstad Bru. Turn left at Svingvoll towards Skei (Skeisvegen) and follow this road for about 10 kilometres.

By car from Trondheim: Follow E6 to Tretten. Take the exit towards Gausdal (Musdalsvegen, rv. 254). Follow the road to Svingvoll and turn right towards Skei (Skeisvegen). Follow the road for about 10 kilometres.
