The fifth largest waterfall in Norway, with its 612-metre drop, is situated at the east-end of the picturesque Åkrafjord just outside Etne. Langfossen has been named as one of the world's 10 most beautiful waterfalls by CNN.
Karmøy is famous for its long, white sandy beaches. Take a stroll along them and let your eyes gaze out towards the wild and beautiful North Sea.
Haugesund and the region are excellent for hiking, and there are many viewpoints available, such as Steinsfjellet - one of the highest peaks in Haugesund. Steinsfjellet is easily accessible by car. From here you can enjoy views over Haugesund, the North Sea and the surrounding mountains.
The Etnefjella Mountains east in Haugalandet are ideal for long and short hiking trips year round. Marked trails can be found here, and there are many cabins should you want to spend the night up in the mountains.
Trollvasssnipen is the highest peak in Sveio. The viewpoint at Holekleiv is situated one kilometre from Nedstrand in Tysvær. It is easily accessible and offers a great panorama over the Boknafjord, the moors of Ryfylke and the small village of Nedstrand.
