@WheresAndrew
Andrew Evans is National Geographic's DIGITAL NOMAD-always on the road, always connected.

A Norway adventure summarized in tweet form

From May 14th to June 4th, Andrew Evans  traveled around Norway and tweeted about it. A lot.

With an impressive online following, he keeps a captivated audience of more than 16,000 engaged and curious every day  with his poetic  - often times witty - observations, an openness to try everything, and an affinity for history, dogs and good food.

As not everyone is on Twitter, we have compiled some of the best posts from Andrews Norway Twitter feed, for your enjoyment.

The adventure begins

15 May Sometimes you wait your whole life to see a country & then one day there it is, opening up beneath you. No longer a dream, but a real place.

16 May Of all the cool things I do for my job @NatGeo, perusing the locked vaults of @TheMunchMuseum is up there. Pinching myself right now. #Oslo

17 May God morgen fra #Oslo. Suddenly, everyone looks very Norwegian. Today is May 17th, Norway's Constitution Day!

18 May Mighty, mighty mountains rise up to the sky, leaving me gawking out the train window. Spectacular nature abounds.

20 May So this is #Norway. I've waited my whole life to climb these mountains. The #nature is so big & so magnificent.

20 May Welcome to Preikestolen! Maybe not an official wonder of the world, but definitely a wonder in my world. Look at this!

21 May Walking back to hotel through the up & down streets of #Stavanger. I've a real affection for the wooden houses here.

22 May Welcome to #Bergen! (I told you I'm going #North!) So much sunshine, people tanning & eating fresh fish outside.

23 May A good day, saw the king & queen, watched an opera & roamed backstage in Ibsen's theater. Takk #Bergen; good night!

24 May This may just be the purest place on earth. #Norway

24 May Whizzing my lil' red car beneath some mighty granite mountains (near Gudvangen). Yosemite has nothing on #Norway.

24 May Water falls from every mountain, snow patches linger in spite of the sun. Amazing that humans ever found this valley.

25 May Ascending by rail into beautiful mountain scenery above me. If you love trains, you gotta come to the Flåm Valley

26 May Hiking thru tremendous glacial valley of #Jostedal. Days like this make every airport security check worth it. #travel

26 May Wow. That's all I can say really. Wow. #Norway #hiking

27 May Bidding farewell to Eplet guesthouse, my fav in #Norway so far. Honestly I could spend a whole summer here in Solvorn.

27 May Taking it all in before I begin a quick descent back down again. #Norway is good for body & soul.

27 May Hmmm. Mighty mountains, an amazing spa, and all-you-can eat smoked salmon. This is my kinda place! #Loen #Norway

28 May Enjoying the magnificent world around me in Geiranger #fjord, up on the back deck of the ferry, counting waterfalls.

29 May My whole life I've flipped through idyllic ads of #Norway, but today I'm standing here & it's 100% real. #travel

29 May Departing the dear village of #Geiranger, such a hidden wonder wedged deeply in the crux of the fjord. #Norway

29 May Jensen & Skodvin, architects for Juvet #design hotel, each room is isolated in nature w/ views of forest & stream.

31 May Waking up in my little #lighthouse on the water. A dreamy night, slept great, pretended I was in "Pete's Dragon". #Ålesund #Norway

31 May Today, #Ålesund represents one of the highest concentrations of jugendstil #architecture in the world—beautiful city.

1 Jun From the top deck of Midnatt Sol, a last long look at fair #Ålesund. Terrific town, one I shall keep in my heart.

2 Jun One of the upstairs rooms @Husfrua farm #hotel, so beautiful in white. That cool Scandinavian aesthetic, so pure.

2 Jun Stiklestad is the place where St. Olaf was killed on July 29, 1030. (Wake up #Minnesota – you'll wanna hear this!)

3 Jun Good morning! Today I'm going on a pilgrimage: the St. Olaf's route to Nidaros (Trondheim), walked by Christians for centuries. #Norway

3 Jun Yesterday I was in the town of Hell; Today I'm in the forest, chatting w/ a French Trappist monk in his kitchen. Life is never boring.

3 Jun Welcome to #Trondheim! Iron water reflects colorful warehouses, a city of canals & docks, students & bridges.

4 Jun The sadness of a trip coming to a close, the hastening of time, 3 weeks of memories & a new love for #Norway. Ja, vi elsker dette landet.

4 Jun Walking out to my plane, sun on my back, rain on my face. I'll take it as a goodbye kiss from #Norway. Tusen takk.
