In recent years, Narvik has become world famous for its unique skiing facilities during winter with breathtaking views of fjords and mountains. In addition to an extensive network of cross-country skiing, there is also unlimited scope for off-piste skiing.

There is a ski centre at Narvikfjellet.

Orca and sea eagle safaris

Every winter large concentrations of Orcas, the largest member of the dolphin family, gather in the fjords outside Narvik to feed on herrings which arrive in the fjord early November.

The feeling you get when you are close to orcas and sea eagles, in their rightful habitat, is an experience without comparison. For those of you who are photo enthusiast, this is a great way of developing and testing out your skills.
