You will be fascinated by the world-famous Geirangerfjord with its untamed waterfalls cascading down precipitous mountainsides. The fjord has been nominated for a place on the UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage List and throughout the summer there are several ways of travelling to this unique place, all starting from Ålesund.
Drive across the Atlantic Road, which winds its dramatic way across small islands and reefs right out at the ocean's edge, or take a beautiful round trip along the dramatic Hjørundfjord.
Visit one of Norway’s most exciting tourist attractions, the Trollstigen Road, a fantastic road that winds its way up the mountainside through 11 hairpin bends. The road crosses the Stigefossen waterfall on its way to its highest point, 852 metres above sea level.
