Along the coast you can experience the The Atlantic Highway. Chosen as "Norway's construction of the century", this road links together Averøy and Eide.
Grip is a tiny island that lies 14 km out to sea. The buildings in the village are packed as close together as in a small town, and nestling between the houses, there is a 500-year-old stave church. The fishing village of Veiholmen is located towards the northernmost tip of Smøla and is linked to the main island by a road that with its bridges, landfills and protective breakwaters is an adventure in itself. Veiholmen is a lively fishing village with fishing boats arriving with their catches and the gulls and sea eagles hovering overhead in their quest for food.
The scenery of the Trollheimen mountain range is breath-taking. High peaks constantly covered in snow, gentle slopes and precipitous cliffs, long valleys and open plains, sheltered and fertile valleys with rushing rivers and still lakes of all sizes, well-stocked with fish. Here you will also find the purest air and water in Europe at Kårvatn in Todalen.
