The festival offers activities and entertainment for all ages. Visitors are invited to participate in craft activities, join a historical sports competition or row a Viking ship. There will also be opportunities to watch a magician, learn how Viking warriors prepared for combat, listen to lectures and learn about life during the Viking Age.
The surroundings and reconstructed buildings around the Lofotr Viking Museum provide an inspiring setting, allowing you to experience history through a genuine atmosphere, food, music and handicraft.
The Lofoten Islands are known for excellent fishing possibilities and impressive nature attractions, small villages off the beaten track and whale safaris. The landscape's characteristic alpine peaks and white, sandy beaches provide an incredible backdrop to the ever-changing light with the midnight sun in the summer and the northern lights in the winter.
The small fishing villages such as Henningsvær and Kabelvåg are home to many artists, creating a great bohemian atmosphere with a local touch. The Lofoten Islands are also known for various activities such as kayaking and skiing.
