Venabu mountain hotel is situated at Venabygdsfjellet south of the RondaneNational Park. The landscape is dominated by the open plateau formed by a desert climate 60 million years ago, as well as newer formations created 10,000 years ago during the last Ice Age. Here you can see some of the most exciting scenery consisting of narrow canyons, lakes, waterfalls, moraines and terraces. Discover the light summer nights in June, walk over the lichen covered plateau in the kingdom of the wild reindeer, visit old summer farms and discover the rich cultural heritage in the old valley of Gudbrandsdalen, like the Peer Gynt Festival in August. It is our wish that all those who take part in our walking programmes should enjoy them and take time to look at nature's diversity.
