Description

Søgne is located on the best strip of coast between Kristiansand and Mandal and has 11,000 inhabitants. Søgne’s coast and culture wish the whole family welcome to an active holiday there. The magnificent skerries offer a number of recreational areas, for example Helleviga, which has received a national award for its qualities and facilities.

From Høllen there is a regular ferry service that sails round Søgne’s skerries all year. One of the stops is the outport of Ny-Hellesund, which has been immortalised in the paintings by Amaldus Nielsen and the writing of Vilhelm Krag.

For those that love bathing there are fantastic sandy beaches at Åros and Høllen, which also has a variety of overnight accommodation and a large, heated, outdoor, saltwater pool. If anyone is interested in sea fishing, Trysnes Marina, located at the mouth of the fjord, can provide overnight accommodation in fishermen’s cabins, boat hire, restaurant and guest harbour.

Central Tangvall provides good opportunities for shopping and a number of very nice cafés.
