Description

If you’re going to walk the entire length of the coastal path, start at the library in Stathelle.

Then continue under the Brevik bridge, through old Stathelle up to Stathelle primary school. From there the path goes through the forest to Eik churchyard then down Røsskleiva/Hydal and out to Fagerheim/the water park.

The coastal path then heads along the old ferry landing, into Kongshavn and out towards Furustranda, before rounding Langesundstangen/the fort and heading down to Steinvika.

From Steinvika it crosses Badåsen ridge to Langesund Bad and Krogshavn.

From Krogshavn it continues to Kjerrvik, Sandvika, Jypleviktangen, Rognstranda and Hydrostranda, before ending at Vinjestranda.

You can also opt to just walk certain sections of the Coastal Path. Starting from Rognstranda and heading out across Rognsåsen ridge to Tangen Fort offers a fantastic walk in hilly terrain.

The first section of the coastal path is on standard asphalt. The remainder is a combination of forest terrain, rocky ground and deciduous forest, and some stretches are quite steep.
