The Trondheim Chamber Music Festival was held for the first time in 1996 and has since developed into one of the most innovative chamber music festivals in the world! The establishment of the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition was a way of internationalising the festival and, not least, promoting international festival composers on an annual basis. By always offering something extraordinary, the festival has succeeded in attracting the attention of both ordinary concert-goers as well as those who would not normally attend a concert.

Over the last 4 years, the proportion of young persons and students in the audience has been around 50 %. This is something unique in today’s classical music world.

 

The festival takes place between the 23th and the 29th of september in 2013
