The exhibition tells stories about Sami history and society. Some of the artworks are based on historical events such as the Kautokeino Rebellion, the Alta Case and the German "scorched earth tactics" in Finnmark and Nord-Troms after World War II.
The exhibition focuses on contemporary art with works by artists such as Aslaug Juliussen, Britta Marakatt-Labba, Arvid Sveen, Arnold Johansen, Marja Helander, Rose-Marie Huuva and Svein Johansen Flygari and also includes historical artist Iver Jåks. Works in various media including sculpture, embroidery, woodcarvings, photography and video installation. The exhibition will later appear in the Scandinavia House in New York in summer 2014, as a joint project with Tromsø Museum.
