Description

Briksdal Adventure have just introduced a brand new trip, possible for everyone to join, perfect for families,

Short facts about the ice activities:
Duration of the trip: approximately 4-5 hours (we return to Briksdal around 15-16:00. Price: 400 NOK pr person, included al the required equiptment. Family price: 300 NOK pr person (minimum 3 persons)Difficulty level: EASY. Meeting point: By the souvenirshop in Briksdal at 10:00. Suitable for: everyone. We do NOT walk on the glacier, but it is possible to try ice climbing in the front of the glacier.

What is this trip all about?
We meet by the souvenirshop in Briksdal at 10:00, then depart for the beautifull and scenic Brenndalen valley, one of west Norways best kept secrets. Up in this magnificent valley, we’ll be practically alone.

We’ll spend about 1 hour walking in to the Brenndal glacier, surrounded by steep mountains, roaring rivers and a exiting fauna. On the way in, we’ll walk in the pace we fell is okay, and take plenty of stops. On these brakes, the guides will share all of their local knowledge about the glaciology, geology and the fauna. The magnificent view will always surround us.

As we arrive by the Brenndal Glacier, we’ll sitt down in our base camp and relax. An old fashioned simple wood fire will be lit, and we’ll spend as much time as we feel like by the front of the glacier.

While we are by the glacier front, you can choose between different activities to participate in (all of the activities are included in the price), just relax by the fire, cooking food on the fire, or wander around in front of the glacier on your own.

Activities you can choose from will be for example:
Ice climbing – We’ll put up a rope in the front of the glacier, and you can try ice climbing in a safe way.

Ice swimming – right next to the glacier, there is a small lake, are you tough enough to go swimming? (the water temperature is about 5 ‘celcius) Bring your own  towel and swimming suits)

Making food on the fire

When we feel like it, we’ll start walking back down towards Briksdal.
We recommend that YOU bring:
- Packed lunch, and food to prepare on the fire (hot dogs, fish, etc)
- Drink
- Suitable clothing according to the weather
- Mountain boots (we also have boots for renting, free of charge)
- Gloves (we have gloves for those of you who forgets)

We recommend that you book this trip in advance, to make sure that we have enough guides for you. We focus on this being a stress free day, where we truly enjoy the Norwegian scenery.
