We know about it but the Vinnufjellfossen, which is hidden in the Sunndal mountain, is often forgotten in the company of the more well-known Mardalsfossen.

But we are talking about world class greatness here. The Vinnufjellfossen ranks number five on the list of the biggest waterfalls in the world. It’s 860 meters beats Mardalsfossen’s 657 meters by 203 meters, making it Norway’s highest waterfall.

But Vinnufjellfossen is a modest waterfall. In contrast to Mardalsfossen’s freefall, it cascades down the mountain in four different plasses. This explains the difference in attention between the two waterfalls.

Worth a visit and a great photo subject.
