Description

Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) - One of the most visited attractions in Norway, and one of the most photographed sites. To visit this popular rock formation, that is 604 m over the Lysefjord, is a fantastic nature experience.
In 2011 Preikestolen was listed as one of the world’s most spectacular views and natural attractions by Lonely Planet and CNN GO travel magazine.

Experience the view from the Pulpit Rock in a stunning 360-degree image viewer.

At Easter there will be bus transportation from Tau to Preikestolen as well as in the weekends in April and last part of September.

May- middle of September: the bus departs from Tau to Preikestolhytta several times daily.

The bus corresponds with ferry departures from Fiskepirterminalen in Stavanger.
The hike up to Preikestolen is a 2 hours marked trail.

With own car, travel to Lauvvik ferry quay on Rv 13 and cross with the ferry to Oanes, continue along Rv 13 and follow the signs the Preikestolen. This is the most scenic route. You can also cross with the ferry to Tau and continue on Rv 13 via Jørpeland and follow the signs to Preikestolen. Parking fee NOK 100.

It is possible to hike to Preikestolen during the winter if there is little snow! But the trail might be slippery and you should then turn before you reach the top.

Remember to bring varm clothes, sturdy footwear (hiking boots) and a packed lunch!
