Description

Lillehammer Art Museum is one of Norway’s leading art museums. The collection consists of over 1400 works dating from the 19th century to the present day. Part of the collection is always on show. 2013 is the B150th anniversary of Edvard Munch’s birth, and the whole of the museum’s Munch collection will be on display throughout the year. The museum building was designed by Snøhetta for the Lillehammer Winter Olympics in 1994.

The Museum Shop - The museum shop sells art books and Norwegian decorative art objects.

The Museum Cafe - The museum café sells lunch dishes and a wide choice of freshly baked bread and cakes.

The Garden - The art garden, which links the old museum building with the new, was created by the Norwegian sculptor Bård Breivik. Its principal elements are stone and water.
