Dog sleigh rides is a very exciting activity, which few of us have tried. The dogs, which are of the type Alaskan Husky, are pulling a sled where you can sit or stand.
Once a week the hotel rents dogs and sleighs, and goes for a half an hour ride. There has to be a minimum of 6-8 people. Longer rides can be booked in advance.
FOSSEGÅRDEN This old coaching inn is located 1 km from Hafjell Alpine Centre, 12 km from Lillehammer and 10 km from the Øyerfjellet mountains, and has long been a tourist destination.
18 cabins are located to the south of Fjellstuen. Each measure 37 sq m and features 9 sq m loft. The loft has enough headroom for people to stand up, and contains a floor hatch in order to separate the room from the downstairs living space. All cabins have an open kitchen solution with 2 cookers, fridge, oven, coffee machine, toaster, utensils and crockery for 5 people.
All food is homemade, and the culinary experiences are seasoned with stories of traditional cookery.
First section as the Inga-Låmi route to Sagmyra. Continue straight ahead, cross Sjøsætervegen and climb the steep hill (Olympic trails will cross midway). Then 2 km of slightly hilly terrain until trails meet. Continue left towards Nordseter.
Pick up the trailhead and continue over the mountain meadows south of lake Nevelvann. The panorama view from Neveltoppen is splendid - and clear days allow you to take in Rondane, Jotunheimen, Galhøgpiggen and other magnificent mountain sceneries.
