Shopping in the Fjell & Fjord region

Local handicrafts and food is for sale at several farms and outlets.

Handicrafts

Buy traditional and modern handicrafts in wool, leather, wood, glass, silver, steel and tin, as a present for yourself or for someone back home.

Open factories with outlets:

  • HallingGlass in Gol (artisan glass).
  • Brusletto & Co, Brødrene Øyo, Geilo Verktøy and Geilo Jernvarefabrikk in Geilo (knives and cutlery).
  • Hardanger Bestikk in Kinsarvik (cutlery).
  • Aurland Skofabrikk (leather belts and Aurland shoes).

Local food

  • Sour cream and cheese made from cow's and goat's milk, using old and new methods, can be bought in Hallingdal and Undredal.
  • Juice, squash and jam made from apples, pears, plums and cherries can be bought in Hardanger and around the Sognefjord.
  • Veal and mutton, sausages, cured meats, salmon and trout, vegetables, bakery goods (including organic, gluten-free and dairy-free alternatives).
  • Local specialities are sold at farms, shops and restaurants. Try, for example, Veikåker farm shop and wine cellar in Norefjell. During the summer, there is a Saturday market at Gamle Lærdalsøyri.

Shops and shopping centres in the larger towns in the Fjell & Fjord region have a wide range of products.
