Getting to Trysil and around

Located in the heart of Scandinavia, 210 kilometers from Oslo and 470 kilometers from Stockholm. Trysil can be accessed by car or bus.

By car

Trysil is easily reached by car. From Oslo, the journeytime is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Follow the E6 towards Trondheim. Then drive 108 kilometers and turn right at the sign to Elverum/Trysil. Drive further for 25 kilometers until reaching the road rv. 25 and take a right turn towards Elverum. Continue straight through the roundabout in Elverum, through the tunnel under the town centre, then onwards to Trysil, approximately 67 kilometers.

By ferry

From Denmark, the ferry companies Stena Line and Color Line bring you safely to Norway. From Fredrikshavn to Larvik sails with Stena Line. From Hirtshals to Oslo you can take the Color Line. Color Line and Stena Line are also the ferry carriers for guests from Germany and the Netherlands. Visitors from these countries either they travel on the MS Color Magic or the MS Color Fantasy from Kiel to Oslo. Another option is traveling with Stena Line to Gothenburg. Both companies sell complete ski holiday packages in Trysil, with the ferry ticket included.

By bus

Going by bus to Trysil is easy, take the Trysilekspressen. The Trysil Express bus operates a fast route between Oslo, the Oslo Airport Gardermoen and Trysil. There are several departures a day throughout the year. In the winter advance booking will be necessary as the buses tend to sell out. 

Buses travel between Copenhagen/Malmö/Gothenburg and Oslo on a daily basis. In Oslo you make a transfer to Trysilekspressen (see above).

In the winter you can also travel by bus from Stockholm to Trysil every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

By plane

Norway's main airport is just two hours-drive away (160 kilometers) Oslo Airport Gardermoen . From the airport you can get to Trysil by express bus or rental car.

By train

Departing from Oslo city centre, Oslo Airport Gardermoen and other main cities, you can also reach Trysil by train. Trains arrive at Elverum, 70 kilometres away from Trysil. From Elverum, express buses depart several times a day for Trysil.
