Shopping in Valdres

Valdres offers a range of shopping opportunities from shopping centers to charming shops, boutiques and art galleries.

In Valdres, you will find unique souvenirs to bring back home. The main sales outlets are at the Valdres Folkemuseum, Husfliden in Fagernes and Beitostølen Souvenir & Brukskunst. Some of the hotels in Valdres also have a selection of souvenir items. If you are looking for hand-made products, such as silver jewellery, ceramics or other arts and crafts, you can visit local galleries and outlets where you can observe the production process and buy directly from the producers.

Typical Valdres souvenirs are hand-made silver jewellery, hand-woven products such as the unique Christian carpet (visit Marit Anny's Vevstogo in Lomen), ceramics, paintings, wood carvings, leather and furs. Your will also find other "typical" Norwegian souvenirs such as the popular elk and trolls.

Valdres is well-known for its unique jewellery made from gold, silver, wood and leather. Visit Valdres Sølvsmie & Keramikk (silversmith and ceramics), Hovda Sylv & Tre (silver and woodwork) in Dale and Eli’s Tre & Skinnatelier (wood and leather) in Etnedal. Valdres also has its own jewellery collection with the unique Valdres symbol.
