Getting to Haugesund and Haugalandet, and around

There are direct flights from Oslo and Bergen to Haugesund, and ferry connection with Hanstholm in Denmark.

By plane

Haugesund Airport Karmøy is situated 20 minutes from the city centre of Haugesund. There are several daily flights to and from Oslo and Bergen with SAS. Both Widerøe and SAS have direct flights to Copenhagen. In addition to this, Ryan Air has direct flights to and from London Stansted and to and from Bremen during the summer.

By bus

There are express bus services that connect Haugesund with other major cities in Norway. Kystbussen has several daily departures to/from Bergen and Stavanger, whilst Haukeliekspressen operates between Haugesund and Oslo.

By boat

Fjord Line has a ferry from Hanstholm in Denmark to Haugesund.

There is also the hydrofoil Flaggruten that has several daily departures to/from Bergen and Stavanger.

Travelling around Haugesund and Haugalandet

Travelling in and around Haugalandet is easiest if you have your own car, but local buses are there to assist those who are travelling without. When it comes to buses there are two companies that operate in the region; Tide and Kolumbus
