If you want comfort and perhaps a little luxury when you are on holiday, you are sure to find this at one of the eight hotels in the area. All the hotels are unique – the family-run Hotel Union which has just opened a new spa, the newly restored Villa Norangdal which has rooms in the styles from different decades, or the newest hotel Juvet Landskapshotell beside the Gudbrandsjuvet Gorge.
Either you prefer staying in a tent, a simple cabin, or a well-equipped holiday house; there are plenty of alternatives. The cabins can be rented on short or long term, and access to a boat is often included.
If you would like to stay close to the Geirangerfjord, Geirangerfjorden Feriesenter is a good alternative. Or perhaps Solvang Camping by the picturesque Lake Eidsvatnet, or the new cabins in Omenås in Valldal is the perfect place for you?
For those on a budget, or who want an international atmosphere, the youth hostel in Hellesylt is a good option.
If you are planning to go hiking in the mountains, Ålesund-Sunnmøre Turistforening has a number of both full-service and self-service cabins along the most popular hiking routes.
