Stalheimskleiva Mountain Road and the Nærøydalen Valley

Stalheimskleiva, built between 1842 and 1846, is one of the steepest roads in Northern Europe. The road has 13 hairpin bends, with Stalheim Hotel located at the top overlooking the road and the Nærøydalen Valley.

On the road sides you can observe Stalheimsfossen Waterfall (126 metres) and Sivlefossen Waterfall (142 metres). Stalheimskleiva is located approximately 35 kilometers north-east of Voss center, along the E16, direction Oslo.

Tvindefossen Waterfall

This is a 152-meter high waterfall situated next to Tvinde Camping, approximately 12 kilometers north-east of Voss along the E16. If you follow the road beyond the camp site, there is a path to the top of the fall. However, please note that the path is not fully secured. 

When visiting you could also take the opportunity to combine the experience with an easy walk to either Afdal-Prestølen or Leidal-Hustveit. Please contact Voss Tourist Information and CarWalks for route descriptions and maps. 

Panoramic view from Hanguren Mountain

Within walking distance from Voss centre, Hangursbanen cable car can take you to the top of Hanguren Mountain, 660 meters above sea level. From the café at the top you will have a panoramic view over Vossevangen (Voss town centre) and the mountainous landscape. Hanguren is an excellent starting point for hiking and mountain biking.

Voss Church - Vangskyrkja

Built in the period 1271-1277 and located in the town centre, Vangskyrkja is still in use, with church services taking place here every Sunday at 11 am. During the summer months the church is open for tourists.

Bordalsgjelet Gorge

Wild country within walking distance of Voss center. There are altogether three view points, and locations are marked on the information boards located at the site. A footpath will lead you along the main part of the gorge. You will get good views of the potholes, but keep to the marked footpaths.
