Cross-country skiing at Hovden

Hovden offers 106 miles of prepared trails for both classic and freestyle.

Hovden is centrally located in the middle of Southern Norway, and is usually reliable when it comes to good snow conditions.

There are trails in all categories, for families with children and for hardened enthusiasts alike. Some tracks are less exposed to weather variations.

All touring trails are prepared daily if conditions allow. The trails are well-marked and go through varied terrain right up to 4,100 feet above sea level. The longest trail is 40 kilometres and offers a truly amazing high mountain experience.

If you want to go skiing after sunset, 6 miles of floodlit trails are prepared daily.

Other winter activities

Try snowshoeing and take a walk in the mountains.

The outdoor skating rink is open every day. If you do not have your own skates, you can hire them at Hovden Water Park.

After a long skiing trip with the children, you can all thaw out at Hovden Water Park. The water is a constant 86 degrees (Fahrenheit) both indoors and out; try the water chute, the obstacle river with current and waterfall, several jacuzzis, sauna and solarium.
