Description

Length: ca. 4.5 km one way
Duration: ca. 1.5−2 hrs up
Altitude difference: 460 meters
Suitable for children: from 6-7 yrs.

Follow the E16 to Vang and follow the signs to Skakadalen 10 (not Skakadalen 8!). Pass through the toll station (NOK 30 in 2010) and continue for approx. 9 km. Parking area on the left hand side of the road.
Walk along the same road for about 300–400m. The route to Skjøld starts to the right by Storstølen. The route is clearly marked with white V’s. In the beginning, it’s quite steep, but the terrain levels out on the plateau. The view from the edge of the cliff is one of the most breathtaking that Valdres has to offer and is highly recommended!
