Description

Length: approx. 4 km one way
Duration: approx. 2 hrs. up
Altitude difference: 800 meters
Suitable for children: from 7-8 yrs.

From the E16, exit by the Ulnes church and follow the signs to Panoramavegen and Vaset (toll road NOK 40 in 2010). Continue on the same road in the direction of Nøsen and turn right by the containers, a few hundred meters before you reach Nøsen Fjellhotell. Keep going for another 4 km until you reach a road crossing at Buaråne. Turn left, pass the bridge and continue for another 1.5 km towards Bukono/Grunke. Then turn right towards Halvorstølen. The road is steep until you reach the summer farm area where you will find a place to park.
From Halvorstølen, walk about 300m along the dirt road in a southward direction and turn right by a small cabin. Steep uphill trail before it evens out by Bukonofjellet (mountain). Stay in the direction northwest until you see cairn on the top of Gråkampen. The upper parts are rocky.
To the right of the path there is a cave called “Hulabakkhula”. It is situated at the top of a steep and narrow snow field, at an altitude of 1320 meters, easily accessible on a rock gallery above the snow field. Bring torches if you want to explore the cave.
