Description

An exciting tractor safari brings you to a place you would never think it was possible to live. Enjoy mountain farm life with goats and the people who live here.  Bus transfer from Haugesund.

The boat will transport you from Åkrafjordtunet at Teigland over to the other side of the fjord, where a tractor with passenger trailer will be waiting. The trip will weave its way up the steep gravel road with the farmer himself as guide, who imparts interesting information along the way. The landscape opens up and we visit the charming mountain farm of Eikemo where six people live throughout the year. A further trip by tractor will bring us to Eikemo mountain pastures. At the mountain pastures there are farmhouses from the 1800s side by side, with a new communal barn that is used the entire summer. There is peace and quiet with just the melody of the river and sheep bells, and no disturbance from mobile phones, as there is no coverage. You can accompany the farmer to meet friendly goats and taste goats milk and cheese. You can enjoy your own picnic lunch outdoors or inside the wooden lavvo(tent), together with a cup of coffee boiled over an open fire. A wonderful experience!

Remember to bring jogging shoes/hiking boots/boots, camera, lunch and dress according to the climate.

Bustransfer from Haugesund can be booked in addition to the tour. Haukeliekspressen bus: Departure Haugesund 09.20 - arrival Teigland 10.55, departure Teigland 16.30 - arrival Haugesund 18.20.

Book you tickets online or by mail or telephone, booking latest 14:00 the day before. Special prices for groups on request.
