SKI RESORTS
During the winter, Sauda is a dream come true for any ski enthusiast. You can don your skis right outside the door of your house or cabin, or visit the largest ski resort in southwestern Norway.

Sauda Ski Centre, Svandalen
This ski resort is suitable for everyone, whether you’re young or old, a beginner or an experienced skier. Five ski lifts take you up to 900 metres, with the longest piste being 6 km. Cafeteria and bar, ski rental. Separate area for freestyle skiing, a snowboard park, big ski jump, and graded pistes ranging from green to black.

Lyngmyr ski facility – cross-country
Ski-tracks with varied challenges, ranging from gently rolling terrain to steep hills and rough downhill skiing. Lighted trails. Toilet facilities. Open and child-friendly area in the lower part of the facility, near the parking lot.

TERRAIN FOR CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Nordstøldalen is a great point of departure for ski trips, especially for families. The valley is nicely sheltered from weather and wind.

Åbødalen is excellent for both short and long trips, such as Nasjonalen (tour around Buernuten and Liasetnuten). It’s also the starting point for the annual Mountain Race (Fjellrennet).

Slettedalen is the largest of the valleys in Sauda. Each year double tracks are made along Slettedalsvannet lake, at least 5 km in easy-to-moderate skiing.

Breiborg along the Ryfylke Road Fv. 520 is magnificent mountain terrain! It is highly varied, offering easy short trips that are suitable for everyone, as well as demanding hikes for experienced cross-country skiers. You can set your sight on peaks such as Reinaskarnuten and Skaulen.

Maldal is scenic and an ideal starting point for ski trips in the western part of Skaulenområdet. The trip around Reinsnuten is a classic that can be enjoyed throughout the winter.

SNOWSHOE HIKES
For the entire family. Guided tours for groups. Please contact Sauda Ferie & Fritid for detailed information, including prices and snowshoes rental.

“TAKE THE BOAT TO THE MOUNTAIN”
Throughout the winter, there are express boats from Stavanger to Sauda, via Tau and Judaberg. For schedules, prices and booking, please visit: www.rodne.no

SKI BUS
Ski bus from Karmøy and Haugesund to Sauda Ski Centre each Saturday and Sundag during winter season, aswell as winter and Easter holidays. For more information and booking, please visit www.busstur.as

SAUDA HALL
This swimming facility has 3 pools, a waterslide, diving boards and playground equipment. Please visit the website of Sauda Municipality for details. Every year, between Christmas and new years, there is a field hockey and football tournament in Sauda Hall.

FITNESS CENTRE
Frisk & Rask Treningssenter is a fitness centre with 30 spinning cycles, excellent equipment for strength training, a good selection of benches, adjustable weights and other fitness equipment. Experienced instructors are ready to assist you according to your wishes and needs. Instruction is offered in step, Corebar and strength training.

CINEMA
Sauda’s cinema was once considered the finest movie theatre in the country, and drew considerable attention also due to its novel architecture. Since then it has been modernised further, but with care to preserve its unique character. The movie theatre has 3D equipment and seats 200 people. Films are offered every Friday and Sunday, as well as selected Wednesdays.
