Description

Ramsfjell is Ramsvig Handelsstad’s cottage at Haukelifjell
The cabin is made of pine tree from Ål in Hallingdal. It is located in Raudberg, in Vågslid, Vinje commune, almost 1 000 metres above sea level. The cabin was built in 2009 and 2010 and it is located 10 minutes drive east from Haukeliseter fjellstue. Or three and a half hours from Stavanger, four hours from Oslo and three hours from Bergen. The guests can drive directly into the cabin’s garage, where there is space for up to three cars.

Cottage contents
In the lower floor you'll find a ski stall, a living room with a fireplace, a gym, a drying room and a sauna with showers and toilets. The ground floor consists of a TV room, a living room with a fireplace, a dining room/conference room, kitchen, three bedrooms and a bathroom with toilet. The first floor has three big bedrooms with alcove beds in Telemark style and toilet. In the annex above the garage there is a room with two beds and a toilet.

Sheltered location with a view
The cabin is protected from the western and northern wind by the mountain Raudberg. Sun over the mountains the whole year. From the cabin there is a panoramic view over Vågslidvannet. There are fantastic ski possibilities from Haukelifjell ski centre. Marked trails to Hardangervidda run across the cabin’s west side. Put your skies on outside the doorstep and enjoy the 65 kilometres long trail.

Both Winter and Summer activities
Ramsfjell has several activities to offer, both in winter and in summer. Here there are tour possibilities with or without skies in marked trails. If you decide to drive an hour on Haukeliveien E134 direction east, you will arrive in the ski centre Morgedal. If you go west for about half an hour, you arrive in Røldal. There is a stave church that was a popular pilgrime destination during the Middle Age. The history tells that there was a very strong bond between Telemark and Vestland, and the old traffic roads can still be found between East Telemark and Ryfylke.

It is possible to rent Ramsfjell on daily basis. The guest house can take up to 12 guests. The host Mette Hiorth Soland will be present during the stay and will coordinate the activities that the guests wish to do and the food arrangements. We do our best to make of your stay in Ramsfjell a memorable one.
