Lauvdalsbrea Ål in Hallingdal

Hike that gives you a breath of mountain air. Panoramic view of the Hallingdal mountains. The hike up to Lauvdalsbrea (1597 masl) is altogether 7 km and you walk the same route up and down.

Follow the path from the road up to the first plateau. Here the path will partially be gone but it's easy to follow the terrain further to the top.

It is somewhat steep and some easy climbing in the steepest area. Towards the end you walk on stones until you reach the top.

At the top you are rewarded with a magnificent view where you see among other Reineskarvet and Hallingskarvet.

The hike can be combined with fishing in the pond by the parking lot. Fishing permit required.

Arrival /parking:
Take off Highway 7 by Gullhagen (Hallingmøbler) in Ål, and continue on district road 244 towards Vats. When you pass the school in Leveld you will shortly after see the sign towards Hemsedal. Toll road (cash and card). From there it is about 10 km to Lauvdalen. Park by the Lauvdals-stone where the fishing permit box is, right after you have passed the summer farms at Lauvdalen.
