Cleng Peerson from tysvær led the first group of Quakers who sailed from stavanger on the Restaurationen in 1825. sandbekken has dwellings with names such as “bed house” and “glass house”. these dwellings have a building style that was common in the 1600s and 1700s, in addition to the smoke curing rooms that, in this region, were inhabited. sandbekken, with its bathing areas, is also a popular excursion destination.
