Description

Kvernberget Mountain is a small mountain with great views of Kristiansund, beyond the sea, against Smøla, Aure and Averøy inward and Nordmøre and Frei.

Drive or walk to the Løkkemyra town part. Park at Bilextra / signs to Stone Age settlements / Vollvatnet Lake. Follow the path (paved) about 500 meters. Turn right and follow the path up towards the top of Kvernberget Mountain. The trail is unmarked but clearly visible. The trail rises placed regularly and slowly uphill all the way, with one exception: after about 300-400 meters, there is a steep climb and rock outcrops. Not difficult but young children need some help. Then it surfaces again and is easy to climb all the way to the top. A total of approximately 1.3 to 1.5 km from the footpath to the top.

On top is the mailbox with a book in which to write his name. Great area for a rest. Magnificent views of Kristiansund and hinterland - a really good reward for a small and easy ride. Binoculars on top for free use.

Follow the same path back. Total length of trip: about 3.5 -4 km. Suitable for families and all who want a little short and easy walk with good views.
