The Old Town Bridge «Gamle Bybro»

The Old Town Bridge has become a symbol of Trondheim and connects the two banks of the river Nidelven – the city centre and Bakklandet.

Kristiansten Fortress

Kristiansten Fortress towers above Trondheim city centre, and is one of the most popular recreational areas in town. The view from here is great.

Bakklandet

When you leave the city centre («Midtbyen») and cross the Old Town Bridge, you arrive in Bakklandet – a picturesque and popular part of Trondheim.

The Stjørdal River

The Stjørdal River, with its tributaries Forra and Sona, offers 85 kilometres of high quality fishing. It has many similarities with the River Tweed.

Trondheim – the cultural city
